We are delighted to inform you that the IBF Board decided at its 1^st meeting of 2014 to institute a bursary program to further encourage Balinteers to participate in international meetings.

The bursaries will be granted annually to successful candidates to support their attendance at the IBF Congress.

The exact amount of financial support provided each year will be based on the annual IBF budget.

On this basis, we invite applications for the bursaries will be available for the 24th International Balint Conference in 2026 to a total of 500,- Euros per successful applicant.

Goals of the International Bursary Program:

1. Advance Balint work worldwide. 
2. Assist IBF member societies with need and potential for growth
3. Support the development of outstanding future leaders internationally.
4. Exposure of Balint leadership to younger members.
5. Encourage participation and leadership in Balint work amongst Family Physicians/GP’s.

Requirements for Eligibility:

1. Must be a member of his/her national society (or individual member), age up to 50. 
2. Must have the support of his/her national society.

   Anyone fulfilling both Requirements for Eligibility may apply.

Selection will be based on the following criteria:

1. Personal potential for contributing to the development of Balint work in his/her home country.
2. Strength of proposed activities upon returning to the home country.
3. Preference will be given to Family Physicians/GP’s.
4. Age-preference will be given to younger candidates or candidates that have been members of their societies for less than five years.
5. Personal need for financial support.
6. No more than one successful candidate per member country will be chosen each year.
7. Previous winners will not be considered.

Winners will be expected to submit a brief written report of their experiences at the supported activity.
