24th International Balint Congress 2026 Aarhus - Denmark
We are pleased to announce that the 24th International Balint Congress is taking place in Aarhus, Denmark, October 1. – 4. in 2026.
The conference will be held at Diakonhøjskolen, Lyseng Allé 15H, DK-8270 Højbjerg.
CONFERENCE THEME:
Connected, Committed and Contained
“The individual never has to do with another human being without holding something of that person’s life in his hand. It may be a very small matter, involving only a passing mood, a dampening or quickening of spirit, a deepening or removal of some dislike. But it may also be a matter of tremendous scope, such that the individual can determine if the life of the other flourishes or not.”
The citation is from ‘The Ethical Demand’, written by K. E. Løgstrup in 1952, when he was the professor of theology at the University of Aarhus.
We invite all of you ...
We invite all of you to consider if you want to contribute to the conference with a paper, a poster or perhaps a poem under the theme “Connected, Committed and Contained.
We will look forward to hosting our Balint colleagues from around the world, in Aarhus “The city of smiles” located in Jutland near the sea.
Aarhus
Aarhus was founded as Aros “the mouth of the river”. The city has a unique cultural heritage. It has retained its original location from the 700s, and therefore you literally walk in the footsteps of the Vikings when you walk around the city center. If you visit Moesgaard museum and the – in 2026 hopefully – newly built museum of Vikings, you will learn much more about the fascinating history.

Aarhus Cathedral and The Old City
Aarhus Cathedral – a magnificent Romanesque Basilica is placed where the center of Aros was in ancient time.
The Old City is not just a museum. It’s a place where you can explore Danish history from 1864 to 2014.

Aaros
Today ARoS is the name of one of the city’s museums where art inspires, challenges and transforms.
The conference will be held at Diakonhøjskolen in Aarhus
The Diaconal College was established in 1920 in Aarhus. The purpose of the college is to promote diaconia – the Christian tradition for social work – by training students who wish to work among children and the elderly, the sick, the vulnerable, and socially marginalised people.
The Galla Dinner
The Galla Dinner will be held at Varna Palæet, where you before or after dinner will have the opportunity to take a walk at the infinite bridge.
På gensyn! A Bien-tot! Auf wiedersehn! See you there!
